It’s a star-studded poptopia so nice, they’ve decided to hold it twice.
As Ryan Seacrest announced this morning on his radio show, for the first time KIIS FM’s annual Jingle Ball has been expanded to back-t0-back nights, Dec. 1-2 at Nokia Theatre in the L.A. Live complex. As with KROQ’s edgier Almost Acoustic Christmas, very likely to happen the following weekend at Gibson Amphitheatre, the parade of stars will be different at each show.
Taylor Swift will headline the first half, Dec. 1, roughly two weeks before turning 23 and a month and a half after releasing her fourth album, Red, due Oct. 20. Also performing that night will be Ne-Yo, Ellie Goulding, OneRepublic, Wonder Girls, special guest Akon and “a surprise unannounced superstar band.” I’d say my money’s on One Direction, except those Brit pinups are already slated to appear in Connecticut that night.
Justin Bieber, who just played two sold-out shows across the street from Nokia at Staples Center, tops the bill on Dec. 2, with support from Ke$ha, Flo Rida, the Wanted, Afrojack, Owl City, Zedd, “Gangnam Style” propagator Psy and an acoustic set from Fun. Seacrest and “some of the hottest Hollywood celebs” will host both shows.
Tickets go on sale exclusively to KIIS Club VIPs next Friday, Oct. 19, at 10 a.m. Click here to register, then log in using the keywords JINGLE BALL. Tickets remaining after that pre-sale will become available to the general public via Ticketmaster on Saturday, Oct. 20, at 10 a.m. Prices: $85.25-$185.25.
